Community Living in Brooklyn

Happy New Year

Recently I’ve been working with Node, a company that is re-imagining community living, where residents connect, meet and collaborate locally and globally.  Their buildings are comprised of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments that are fully furnished and decorated.  Node works with local architects, interior designers and furniture makers to give their residences a style that reflects the history of the building and its local area.

Here’s a recent shoot from a brand new renovated building at 163 St. Nicholas Ave in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

Another photograph from my ongoing Bushwick project.  I really love shooting at night. There is something so other worldy about the way light is and the effect the long exposures have on the photographs.

From The Highline

This was shot from The Highline looking down 15th St.   I love the way the red bricks contrast with the two blue horizontal lines on the railing and the bridge conntecting the buildings.

Black and White

This is another shot made for Toll Brothers.  This  view, overlooking Chelsea, is from the 16th floor of a residential building still under construction.  The client will get the color version of this shot.  The black and white is for me.

Eye of the Beholder

At first glance this scene doesn’t seem like something worth photographing.  I think it’s beautiful, especially in black and white.
